detta’ towards the computer community. I just enjoy programming viruses, as many others do. That, to me, is what Rabid is all about – a society of those who like to program viruses. You can stuff your egotistical ‘elite’ jargon down your throat as you wallow in the misery of your own oppression, brought about by your own disgusting, miserable self, or you can accept life and reality as they are. To the anti-virus people, I must say a few words. You should be paying us money and not trying to ‘bust’ us. We’re keeping you in your dirty business. Any of your efforts can be got around, because you, like the pigs, are too stupid to realize our higher intelligence/motives. So leave us alone; you’ll get more money and we’ll be happier.

Zodiac is the future of the computer underworld.

There is a ‘clock’, called the Doomsday Clock, which is featured in the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists. It foretells the time left to 12 midnight – the nuclear holocaust. All during the 1950s it hovered menacingly at two minutes before apocalypse; in the 1970s it hovered between nine and twelve minutes to midnight. In 1991, after the end of the Cold War, it was set back again: now we have a seventeen minute margin.

The clock and the time are symbolic. We’re not really just a few minutes from nuclear disaster. Not in real time. But because the technology and means to create a nuclear holocaust exist, we could be said to be approaching ever closer to midnight.

We’re approaching zero in the same way. Zero is when a computer system is devoid of data, of memory, of function. ‘Zeroing out’ a computer can be done by hacking into it and wiping the data, or by dropping in a virus that will trash the hard disk. We’re approaching zero now the same way we’re counting down to midnight – because the technology and means to wipe out computer systems exist.

In the next few years the number of viruses will become uncountable. There will be thousands of new strains, each capable of infecting an infinite number of carriers – diskettes, hard disks and so on. At present there are said to be 5 million infected diskettes in the world. In the next few years the number could become astronomical.
